Craft sale and another bonnet!

This was my table at the Mom2Mom sale on Saturday!! Table set up didn't go quite as planned... We tried setting up a clothesline above the table using PVC pipes clamped to the edge of the table, but under the weight of the ponchos and sleep sacks, the whole works bent inwards. So We just hung the line across the front of the table instead. My sister Rosemary came to help out, but luckily Abigail slept for 2 hours in the wrap!

The sale wasn't a huge success - there wasn't as much traffic as everyone'd hoped, but it was still fun.

I had a little sewing time earlier this week and whipped up another bonnet for Abigail - this time fleece. I enlarged the Prudent Baby bonnet pattern to 105%, and followed her fleece version here with a few tweaks. It could have used a little more length at the back, so I'll do that next time. I used a piece of FOE (fold-over elastic) stretched tight over the bottom edge, about 3/4 centred. Then I sewed the fleece binding over it to cover and trimmed even with the front edges of the bonnet. I added straps at an angle to tie better. Also did two rows of stitching to sew the ruffle on, and added an embellishment.

I'm thinking it'll come in handy this long weekend when we go camping. It's supposed to be pretty cool and not much sun.

  1. So cute!!! I love that you can tweak patterns. I can barely understand them as they are written, much less change them!
